We’re building a new home and the Hardie board isn’t even up yet (nor is the vinyl soffit in the porch), just the sheathing and house wrap, so now is a great time to install any backer boards or mounting plates/brackets. Just looking for advice and best practices, namely because I haven’t decided on cameras yet and want to install a solution that’s weather-resistant and aesthetic, but easy to install against once I pick cameras/NVR. The CAT6 cable will already be pre-installed and routed to each location. In this case we have two cameras mounted against Hardie board and one camera mounted under vinyl soffit (or we can mount it against the Hardie board there as well but probably wouldn’t look as nice). Thoughts?
