An Oregon woman shot her ex-boyfriend in the groin in self-defense after he forced his way into her home and threatened her, police said.
Michael L. Fouch, 32, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in Grants Pass early Monday, police told Oregon Live. The 31-year-old woman called police after Fouch arrived, and was on the phone with them when Fouch reportedly forced himself into her bedroom, where she had hidden with her child. She fired a shot shortly after.
When paramedics arrived, they saw Fouch wounded in the driveway. They took him to a hospital and treated him for his injuries before police booked him into the Josephine County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault and menacing, officials said.
Fouch reportedly threatened his ex prior to breaking into her home. Police did not file any charges against the woman. A spokesperson from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available for comment.
