Robert Sartin. On April 30th, 1989, Sartin took his father’s shotgun and walked out into the street. He saw Ken Mackintosh, a complete stranger to him. Sartin shot Mackintosh in the chest, told him “It is your day to die”, then shot him again. Sartin was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Besides the murder of Kenneth Mackintosh, Sartin shot 14 other people who survived. At one point, someone asked him what he was doing. Sartin replied: “I’m killing people. I’m going to kill you.” After Sartin’s schizophrenia diagnosis, he was found unfit to stand trial and was instead ordered to be confined indefinitely inside a secure mental unit.
