Jennifer Dulos’ family slams lawyer’s ‘irresponsible’ ‘Gone Girl’ theory

A spokeswoman for the family of a missing Connecticut mom on Monday rejected the suggestion that she may have staged her own disappearance in a move similar to the plot of the thriller novel “Gone Girl.”

The suggestion is “false and irresponsible,” said a spokeswoman for the family of Jennifer Dulos, the New Canaan woman who has been missing since May 24.

Dulos’ estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have both been charged with tampering with evidence in connection to her disappearance.

Troconis and Fotis Dulos have both pleaded not guilty and are out on bail.

A lawyer for Fotis Dulos told The Post on Sunday that the missing mom of five may have staged her own disappearance in a plot similar to “Gone Girl.”

The lawyer, Norman Pattis, said that Jennifer penned a 500-page “Gone Girl”-esque manuscript years ago — but said he has yet to read it himself.

“This is a person who has a pretty florid imagination and motives to use it to hurt Mr. Dulos,” said Pattis.
