Building from scratch….

Hello all,

So I am in the process of building a new house. My parents will be living with me as they are getting older and it just makes things easier. I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction and/or give me suggestions. I am looking to get a good home automation/security system. Some of the key points are below:

  1. Ease of use for non technical people. I am a tech guy but my parents are definitely not.

  2. Works well with Google Assistant (as I already have a Google Nest Hub, chromecast, and my personal cell phone is a Pixel 4.

  3. No contracts

  4. Maybe have a keypad for my parents and then I also have the option of doing things via my phone if needed.

  5. Can easily add and remove pieces as needed

I haven’t decided if I will want to use professional monitoring or not, maybe someone can give me some better insight. I have heard people mention Abode, Wyze, Nest, etc. Abode looks interesting and Wyze definitely is economical. If there is something that would help you with providing suggestions please let me know and I can give that information. I appreciate any and all help given.
