A young girl walking her dog in New Jersey was followed by a car, and the suspicious driver then tried to force his way into her home, police say.
The victim, who lives on a quiet residential street in Hillsdale, was walking her pup around 9 p.m. Tuesday when she noticed a dark-colored, four-door sedan trailing her, according to the Hillsdale Police Department.
The creep parked a half-block in front of her on Hopkins Street and Stever Avenue when the girl decided to turn around toward home, police said.
The man then made a U-turn nearby and started driving toward her –– at which point the young girl ran into her home through a side-door, cops said.
The suspect pulled into the driveway, left his car and tried to get into her home through the same door when the girl’s mother came out and asked what he was doing, police said.
The man jumped back in his car and drove away north on Hopkins Street and then east onto Stever Avenue, according to police.
“This is very atypical for this area. It is the first of its kind.” Sgt. Mike Camporeale of the Hillsdale Police Department told the Post. “There have been no similar reports made since.”
The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years old with a medium build.
